An hour of news and politics where local reporters and elected and appointed city officials explain their positions and vent their
frustrations. Part one of the show is round-table analysis and discussion of the past week’s news with reporters from the City's most influential news outlets. Part two is an extended interview with an elected or appointed city official. Newshour has been in existence in
one form or another, since 1977 with the premiere of Viewpoint:, a half-hour interview program with Jerry Burns. City Desk, a
reporters’ roundtable of local news and analysis premiered in 1983. Thirteen years later we combined the two into the CITY DESK
newshour. The rest is history. Rachel Gordon, City Hall reporter for the Chronicle, moderates the discussion portion of the show,
while Barbara Taylor, the grande-dame of City Hall reporters, conducts the interviews. |
